NextGen's project portfolio consist of an array of engineering and technical projects, completed for original equipment manufacturers, research laboratories, universities and technology end-users.  Some of our recent project highlights include the following;

Sub-Sea ROV Equipment Platform

The remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) equipment system involved designing a tooling platform for proprietary sub-sea operations to 12,000 ft.  The design consisted of mechanical, hydraulic and structural components.

NextGen completed the design of the mechanical structures and interface systems, then completed a finite element (FE) structural analysis. 

Heavy-Duty NGV Bus Fuelling Station

The natural gas vehicle (NGV) fuelling station projected involved upgrading a series of heavy-duty fuelling equipment - from compressor packages to dispensing and control systems, to interconnecting tubing and electrical safety devices.

NextGen completed the layout design of the various equipment within each module, installed the equipment on-site, then completed the necessary commissioning with the the client.  Other related project tasks were completed as part the upgrade and existing equipment decommissioning.

Other aspects of the project, including internal project management, code compliance support, and regulatory approval coordination was handled by NextGen.

Pressure Regulating Module (PRM)

The pressure regulating module was designed for depressurizing natural gas cylinders from high-pressure storage to gas utility pressures.  The PRM system is self-sufficient and was intended for industrial applications.

The PRM system is one of NextGen products and was designed to meet specific client requirements.  NextGen can provide complete systems and modify the existing design to meet other application requirements, stationary or mobile.  

Industrial Compressed Oxygen System (Avalanche Control)

The industrial compressed oxygen system was developed as part of an avalanche control equipment package.  The system was designed for on-highway transportation as well as final helicopter transfer to remote avalanche blasting locations.

NextGen completed the design of the system frame structure, as well as the structural finite element (FE) analysis required by transportation regulations.  NextGen shipped two complete cylinder frame structures to the client.  

Multi-Element Gas Container (MEGC)

The container system was designed for bulk natural gas (CNG) transport.  NextGen completed the engineering for the cylinder frame structure, along with the required structural finite element (FE) analysis for obtaining regulatory approvals.

The cylinder frame structures install within modified shipping containers and utilize a specially designed mounting system.  Both mounting system and container modifications were also engineered by NextGen.

Sub-Sea Ocean Cabled Observatory

The cabled observatory was designed as an offshore undersea laboratory for university and ocean researchers.  NextGen completed the structural finite element (FE) analysis for the observatory frame and landing platform, as well as provided engineering assistance during the project.

Mobile Gas Distribution System

The gas distribution system was designed to provide an instant hydrogen or natural gas infrastructure and emergency supply during pipeline interruptions.  NextGen completed the engineering for the cylinder frame structure, along with the required structural finite element (FE) analysis for obtaining regulatory approvals.

Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Research Laboratory

The research laboratory was specifically designed for graduate students and researchers completing proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel-cell stack performance evaluations, as well as evaluating stack configurations and materials.

NextGen completed the engineering, installation and commissioning of the laboratory, consisting of multiple gas manifolds for hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and other industrial gases, systems and equipment.  All aspects of the project, including project management, code compliance support, and regulatory approval coordination was handled by NextGen.
